Heinrich Klaasen | Player of the Match:
The franchise has invested heavily in us. Though we started and had a rough patch midway, we fought hard to bounce back in the last three matches. Feels good to give something in return. There was also a sense of personal pride. I couldn’t convert in a few earlier games, but managed to do that tonight. The approach was to go down the ground here. I adjusted my trajectory better and avoided taking on too many fielders — happy with that. I’ve been putting in a lot of work on picking lengths, as that’s what had been getting me out. I’ve been focusing on that a lot in the nets. While I prefer attacking after the powerplay, my role is to deliver whenever I walk out to bat.
Pat Cummins | SRH Captain:
A brilliant way to finish. Several things clicked over the last few games. Outstanding batting. We've always had the talent, but we struggled in patches. We’ve got a side that can reach the finals in most seasons. It just didn’t come together this time. There are pitches like these where we can fully express ourselves, but others where we need to grind to a score around 170 — and we missed that mark. Quite a few players got chances, and I’m really pleased with the overall squad, even with injuries and some players leaving. Feels like we used close to 20 players this season.
Harsh Dubey:
I stuck to my strengths — tried to get as much turn as possible and utilized angles and field placements, especially to left-handers. I’ve received guidance from various coaches and also tips from Ashwin, which I’ve tried to apply. (On the back of a strong Ranji season) I wasn’t focusing on past performances, just aiming to do well with the white ball now.
Ajinkya Rahane | KKR Captain:
SRH batted exceptionally well and we made some mistakes. They made the most of loose deliveries and also punished the good ones. Their intent stood out. (On taking pace off) It was part of our strategy, even going wide, but execution matters — and against someone like Klaasen, mistakes get punished. Throughout the season, we had our chances. Lost a couple of tight matches we could’ve won. Everyone gave their all — in a format like this, you have to stay sharp constantly. Had we capitalized on those moments, we could’ve finished in the top two. No regrets though — the effort was there. We’ll bounce back stronger next season.
